Find out how to avoid weight gain that may lead to higher blood sugar levels, cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure…

1. Prepare yourself healthy meals

Mediterranean diet

Now you have time for cooking.

Organization and planning are the most important things when it comes to cooking.

Prepare a list of ingredients when you go grocery shopping and don’t hoard food that you should avoid:

  • white bread,
  • puff pastry,
  • cheese,
  • cold meat,
  • sugar,
  • salt,
  • crackers,
  • cookies,
  • juices, and
  • alcohol.

It’s also important to have meals at about the same time every day.

Don’t skip breakfast and try to eat within 2 hours after waking up.

You should eat whole grain cereals with flaxseed, sesame, nuts, or polenta with low-fat cheese, or wholewheat bread, avocado, and hard-boiled eggs.

It’s recommended to add raw veggies like lettuce, rocket, radish, spring onions.

That’s good for boosting your immune system.

You can eat a snack 2-3 hours after breakfast and make sure you eat some citrus fruit like lemon, orange, tangerine, or some berries like blueberries.

When it comes to lunch, it’s good to eat all kinds of homemade soups, pottages, stews combined with fish or legumes.

Don’t eat fried or breaded food.

And eat fresh veggies as well.

You can add healthy salad dressings like extra virgin oil and lemon juice, balsamico, or apple cider vinegar.

Your dinner shouldn’t be after 7 pm and it shouldn’t be pasta, potatoes, pies…

You can eat low-fat cheese, grilled chicken breast, or turkey breast, salmon combined with some veggies like zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms, onions, green peppers.

It’s recommended to use sea salt.

And don’t forget to hydrate yourself between meals.

Drink water, fresh lemonade, decaf tea…

That will help you control your appetite. (3)

2. Avoid junk foods as long as you can

Junk foods

This is probably the hardest thing when it comes to quarantine isolation.

Avoiding junk foods during a Netflix marathon.

Of course, it isn’t terrible if you eat chips from time to time but don’t exaggerate.

You shouldn’t eat unhealthy snacks between meals just because you are bored or stressed out.

For example, you can eat a handful of nuts, a banana, or an apple while you are watching a movie.

If you are craving sweets you can eat some dates, a bar of dark chocolate with more than 75% cocoa, a teaspoon of honey…

3. Try to find a sleeping routine

A healthy sleep that lasts 6-8 hours and starts at least 1 hour before midnight it’s very important since it provides you with enough of the hormone melatonin.

This hormone is produced during sleeping.

Melatonin acts as an antioxidant, slows down the process of aging, and it boosts the immune system.

Besides, when you have a lack of this hormone your metabolism slows down.

And that’s why some people who don’t sleep well gain weight easily.

So, try to have a fixed schedule during the quarantine. For example, get up at 8 am, and go to bed at 11 pm.

4. Exercise at home

If you want to keep your current weight during this period, it’s necessary to have some physical activity.

You can do morning yoga or fitness thanks to many online videos that can help you if you never did any of that.

If you have a stationary bike, or a treadmill now it’s the time to get them out of the garage and start using them.

You can also do exercises that don’t require equipment like planks, squats, and push-ups. (4)

Using supplements shouldn’t be your primary tactic, but some natural supplements can speed up your weight loss process.

I suggest my clients using only supplements made of natural ingredients (that I used).

These supplements are made of plant extracts, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals.

They can help you avoid weight gain during quarantine at home.

So, what’s the bottom line?

The truth is that is much easier to gain weight during quarantine but to lose some or get a slim figure.

But, look at this as an opportunity.

People will not see you for a few weeks.
