1. DASH diet

This is the healthiest diet in my opinion.
It is not good for weight loss only, but for your health too.
The DASH diet is based on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meat.
But the most important part of this diet is reducing the intake of salt, sugar, fat, and red meat.
DASH diet is a nutritious approach which can lower your blood pressure.
An example of the DASH diet menu:
- Breakfast: 2 slices of whole wheat bread with jam, apple, and orange juice
- Snack: One banana
- Lunch: 100g of boiled or grilled chicken breast, 150g lettuce, 200g of boiled integral rice, 50g of low-fat feta cheese.
- Snack: one peach and a cup of Greek yogurt.
- Dinner: 100g of boiled salmon, 300g of boiled potato, 225g of vegetables of your choice.
2. Mediterranean diet
This is my favorite diet.
Because my favorite holiday place is Greece and this is not just a diet, this is a lifestyle.
Actually, this is the diet in other Mediterranean countries, too-Spain, France, and Italy.
What are the most important characteristics of this diet?
You need to reduce the intake of red meat, sugar, saturated fats.
Furthermore, you need to increase the intake of wholegrain cereals, proteins, and nuts.
You can eat dairy products, but moderately.
What is a typical Mediterranean lunch?
A salad of beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, little feta cheese, and fresh herbs and a glass of white wine.
Mmmm, I can almost smell Greece.
These foods are not allowed when you are on the Mediterranean diet:
- High carb foods: sodas, sweets, ice cream, white bread, pasta
- Foods high in trans fats like margarine and refined oil
3. Chrono diet
One of the most popular diet regimes in the last decade.
The basic rule says that you shouldn’t combine proteins and carbs in any meal.
Also, you need to have 3 main meals and 2 snacks per day.
For example, if you choose to eat high protein foods like eggs for breakfast, you shouldn’t eat foods high in carbs like bread with them.
You shouldn’t eat milk, white flour, sweets.
The benefits of the Chrono diet are that you will not feel hunger like with most of the other diets.
Chrono diet daily menu example:
- Breakfast: sunny side up eggs, cucumber, tomatoes
- Snack: Handful of berries
- Lunch: Catfish with grilled vegetables, lettuce
- Snack: Handful of nuts
- Dinner: Pumpkin potage, grilled turkey breast
