A balanced diet and increased physical activity are the most important factors for weight loss. (1)

But, what if you don’t like sweating or you can’t exercise due to some medical problems.

There is a solution.

There are some lazy ways to lose weight without exercise. (2)

Of course, don’t expect fast results.

But, if you follow the rules you will be able to see the results sooner or later.

1. Changing Your Diet Habits

If you don’t want to exercise this is the part you should read carefully.

What do I mean by changing your diet habits?

You must eliminate the following foods from your menu:

  • Sodas (full of sugar, the main reason for those extra pounds)
  • Unhealthy snacks like chips, salted snacks
  • Junk food like cheeseburgers, hamburgers
  • French fries
  • White Bread
  • Pasta
  • Artificially sweetened things from the supermarket like juices, fruit yogurt
  • Ice cream
  • Alcohol (especially beer).

This is the first step in the weight loss journey.

Eliminating these foods is the most important thing if you are trying to lose weight.

Also, these foods are the most common reasons for stubborn belly fat.

Increase the intake of fruit and veggies.

Fruit and vegetables should be part of every meal you eat.

These ingredients are healthy and they contain a small number of calories.

Eat fruit as a snack at least twice a day and include veggies in every lunch.

Don’t skip breakfast.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

If you eat breakfast that contains good proteins, carbs, and fats you will not overeat in the other meals of the day.

Don’t eat after 7 pm.

Try not to eat at least 3 hours before bed.

If you are very hungry eat an apple instead of unhealthy foods.

Don’t starve yourself, eat smaller meals more frequently.

You will speed up your metabolism and you won’t be staving at night and reaching for everything unhealthy in the fridge.

Don’t forget healthy snacks like nuts or Greek yogurt between meals.

Reduce the intake of calories

Physically active people need 2000-2500 calories per day.

The best way to lose weight healthily is to intake 300-500 calories less every day.

So, you shouldn’t starve yourself and be on strict diets, but you should reduce the amount of food you usually eat.

For example, use a smaller plate and stop eating when you feel full even though you still have food on your plate.

2. Drink a lot of water


This is one of the easiest tips to follow.

We all drink water every day.

But, if you want to lose weight increase your daily intake.

Drink a glass of water before every meal and drink at least 2 liters during the day.

It will help you feel full and you will eat less during the meal.

A tip: when you feel hungry drink a few sips of water and you may reduce your appetite.

Drinking more water will increase your metabolism.

You can also drink lemon water.

3. Sleep well


It’s essential to have a good night’s sleep and provide enough rest for your body.

If you don’t sleep enough, you may feel hungrier and crave sweets the next day.

A lack of sleep makes you feel tired and sleepy and you may skip your workout.

Try to sleep 8 hours straight.

Also, going to bed at about the same time every night increases your chances of losing weight.

4. Reduce stress


Increased stress leads to belly fat.

Also, when people are stressed they seek consolation in food.

This is known as emotional eating.

Emotional eating is one of the most common reasons for obesity.

Try to relax, meditate, hike, walk.

5. Portion control

The 10-minute rule is very helpful.

Stop eating when you start feeling full but you can eat more.

10 minutes after eating your brain will get the information from your stomach that you are full.

Also, use smaller plates to fool your brain and eat less food than usual.

6. Walk


Although this is an article about lazy ways to lose weight and I am not talking about exercise, I must mention walking.

This is definitely a lazy way to lose weight.

Walking will boost your immune system, your metabolism, and the fat-burning rate.

7. Try natural weight loss supplements.
